At 4h pm yesterday Mississauga Search & Rescue crews were dispatched to a rare call of an MVA (Motor Vehicle Accident) with water submersion at the corner of Lakeshore Rd and Front St in the Port Credit area of Mississauga. Initial reports mentioned a car that had rolled into the river with an unknown number of occupants on board. Peel Regional Police immediately deployed a full water rescue operation along with Mississauga Search & Rescue, Mississauga Fire, Peel Paramedics and an Ornge air ambulance. The car was completely submerged and it took an hour to locate it, untangle the sole patient, an elderly female and bring her to shore. One fireman was injured and was helped by other firemen to meet paramedics who then transported him into an ambulance. His injuries seem to be originating in the right leg and it was later confirmed that he suffered an injury to the ''lower body''. Pets were also rescued when a fire fighter was seen carrying a pet cage out of the house on fire. Multiple police vehicles were on scene taking care of a large crowd control.
