At 4h pm yesterday Mississauga Search & Rescue crews were dispatched to a rare call of an MVA (Motor Vehicle Accident) with water submersion at the corner of Lakeshore Rd and Front St in the Port Credit area of Mississauga. Initial reports mentioned a car that had rolled into the river with an unknown number of occupants on board. Peel Regional Police immediately deployed a full water rescue operation along with Mississauga Search & Rescue, Mississauga Fire, Peel Paramedics and an Ornge air ambulance. The car was completely submerged and it took an hour to locate it, untangle the sole patient, an elderly female and bring her to shore. They initiated a lengthy investigation after discovering a car that was half submerged in the water of a man-made lake. Halton Police investigators also gathered at the scene in relation with an ongoing missing person investigation. It was determined that the car, a grey BMW that was found belongs to Oakville brothers 22 year old Hamza Khan and 20 year old Shahruka Khan gone missing since Friday night November 4th 2016 where they were last seen. Video taken at the intersection of Haines Road and Dundas Street East in Mississauga, ON on July 8th, 2013 during a massive rain storm. More than 120mm of rain fell throughout many parts of the GTA. Environmental Services Group consultant Matthew Magnus was able to park his car in an elevated area to avoid the flooding and take this video of fearless vehicles driving through the high waters. Various intersections throughout this area of Mississauga were flooded with waters so high that some vehicles were almost completely submerged.
